Dating back over 150 years, the Royal Corps of Signals began in 1870 with the formation of ‘C’ Telegraph Troop of the Royal Engineers.

In 1920 it was formally amalgamated into an official Corps of the British Army at the behest of Winston Churchill who, as Secretary of State for War at the time, saw the critical importance of efficient communication in battle.

The value of the Royal Signals has been evident in every campaign since. Now, more than ever, the need to be at the front of new and emerging communication and cyber security is clear.

The role of the Royal Signals has become one of the most essential to the effectiveness of the British Army, keeping lines of communication clear in our hyper-connected world.

Our elegant range of accessories, licensed by the MoD, features the regiment’s insignia of Mercury, messenger of the Gods, and the motto Certa Cito meaning Swift and Sure.
