Often known simply as Pegasus, the 16 Air Assault Brigade is the Army’s elite rapid response airborne formation.

They are the only brigade in the British Army focused on delivering air assault operations and their insignia features Bellerophon with his winged horse Pegasus from Greek Mythology.

Officially formed in 1999 as the British Army’s rapid response formation, Pegasus has served in the vanguard of all the British Army’s deployments to Sierra Leone, Macedonia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Based around a core of the 2nd & 3rd Battalions of the Parachute Regiment together with other infantry, specialised artillery, combat engineers, signalers and other supporting units. It is now one of the largest brigades in the Army with over 6,200 personnel.

Featuring the memorable insignia of Pegasus and his rider, this beautifully engraved range of cufflinks and lapel pins is a perfect way to honour a soldier or veteran of the 16 Air Assault Brigade.
