More than a decorative border, it was a symbol of protection, intended to safeguard the royal name for eternity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur Cartouche takes its inspiration from this simple idea. A writing instrument designed to protect the thoughts and ideas that we choose to put on paper.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLightweight and understated, the Cartouche is designed to travel easily. Available in a range of colours, its anodised aluminium cap has a smooth, tactile finish and is designed to keep the weight to a minimum. A precision-machined stainless steel grip then adds a little weight where it matters, creating a comfortable balance in the hand.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe grip is engraved with a delicate pattern inspired by papyrus, a quiet reference to Egypt and early writing. At the end of the grip is a small seal engraving of our whippet, while a disc of\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003enatural mother-of-pearl is inlaid into the end of the cap. Each adds a little character to the Cartouche.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBut protection goes beyond the symbolism.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNitrile sealing rings create a water-resistant seal while limiting evaporation, maintaining a humid environment around the nib to reduce the risk of ink drying between uses.
